lyrics
He:
Down in this chamber you will stay.
Guarded by me until the day
when your delusions disappear.
It’s for your own good, my dear.
You tried to steal away that night.
This was the moment I gained insight.
That you are sick, that you’re insane.
I will help to adjust your brain.
She:
Sallow light and dripping stone.
Imprisoned in the house I own.
I fear this vault will be my tomb.
You’re my tormentor, my doom.
He:
And you are mine.
She:
Free me from this vault and I’ll do as you please.
One hand stretched out, it wants to appease.
One hand on the knife and ready to strike.
Come, darling, closer and do as you like.
A little bit closer, I want to caress.
In your blue eyes I see sudden distress.
Lay down, my darling, this knife is the cure.
Just one more stab, cause I want to be sure.
Around the corpse I start to pour
the gasoline upon the floor.
A fainting trail of smoke is sown
Along the path the match has flown.
The flames are beginning to leap up. Now the orchestra resounds.
And as I conduct the movement, the choir tears it to the grounds.
I turn my back and leave. And the music slowly fades.
And as I walk I start singing how I escaped from Hades.
I have listened to this album many times and each time I notice something different I love. Awesome musicianship with excellent songwriting at it's best. shlink88
When you like your prog to be more beautiful and/or accessible than prog-proggy, than this is for you! Melodic as hell and yes, Peter Falconer is quite a singer! That wouldn't go half the way without the solid songs of Pat Sanders. A great combination of skills ;-) Carsten Pieper
The music is calm, balanced and very harmonious. The songs let you slide and take you on a unique journey. Every single note reflects something. I find it difficult to put into words what I hear and feel about the music. It's immersing yourself in another world, immersing yourself in a world of quiet and gentle sounds that make this album so unique and terrific. On the CD I have two songs that touch me a lot: 'PORTRAIT OF A MAN' and 'GETAWAY'. This album is highly recommended. Andrea Weiss
The Long Island metal band's third album etches arena-sized hooks into their jagged compositions, deftly balancing experimental and poppy inclinations. Bandcamp Album of the Day May 12, 2022
I love this album (and found it because John Young of Lifesigns mentioned Robin in an interview)! Against the Rain is my favorite, but also love Hinterland, Bloodline ... so much! Hope you play on Cruise to the Edge 2022! SarahLP
